Blogtober 22 - Barometer
Barometers are used to measure atmospheric pressure. The word itself comes from the Greek words for weight (baros) and measure (metron). They were first designed and experimented with in the 1600's. The atmospheric or barometric pressure is measured in bars and can be used for fairly accurate short term weather forecasting. A rapid drop in pressure predicts wet, windy and stormy weather. High pressure indicates settled, dry weather is likely to come.
